Not prepared for the sacrifice

Transcript of the video

I don’t want to be a Christian because I’m afraid I can’t live up as a Christian OR I do not want to give up my present lifestyle.

There is no one who cannot live up as a Christian because Christianity is not based on good works but on simple faith in Jesus. The Bible says that we only have to do one thing to be a Christian, that is believe.

John 3:16 (NIV) “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Once we have believed, we become a Christian and God will help us to lead a life pleasing to Him. It is a lifelong process. We do not become a saint overnight.

I believe in Jesus but I cannot give up my other gods.

Would you say that Jesus is a good teacher or a bad teacher? Would you say that a good teacher would not lie.

Jesus taught very clearly that He is the only way to God the Father.

(John 14:6 NIV)  Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

If that person is still not prepared to give up his other gods for Jesus, then we should at least ask him to give Jesus a try. It is natural to be afraid to give up his gods out of fear before he is convinced that Jesus is the true way.

Explain to him that Jesus is a miracle working God and He can help him in his problems.

(Mat 9:35 NIV)  Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.

Find out the felt need of your friend and ask permission to pray for them in Jesus’ name.

If you have a testimony of Jesus’ healing, you can share it.

Many non-believers will not be convinced by intellectual arguments but will be convinced when they see the reality of God’s power that is manifested in Jesus’ name.

I will lose all my friends

(Mark 8:36 NIV)  What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?

Our salvation should be the most important thing to us because it concerns where we are going to spend eternity. So what if we lose our friends? Would our true friends desert us if they know we find real happiness in God?

Besides being a Christian does not mean we say goodbye to friendship. The Bible teaches us how to a genuine friend and contains many examples of people who exhibit genuine and unselfish friendship.
